Tributes after sudden death of 'popular' Crewe business owner
By Ryan Parker 6th Nov 2026
Tributes have been paid following the sudden death of a popular Crewe barber who spent more than 16 years in the trade.
Anthony Vickers, who ran Heritage Barbering at Crewe Market Hall, passed away suddenly on Wednesday 28 October.
He opened Heritage Barbering inside the Earle Street venue in March 2024, becoming a familiar face to customers and fellow traders.
Over the years, Anthony built up a loyal customer base and became one of the market hall's best-known figures.
Crewe Market Hall announced the news, describing Anthony as one of its "most popular figures."

In a statement, it said: "It is with profound sadness that we have to advise the passing of Anthony Vickers, Proprietor of Heritage Barbering and one of Crewe Market Hall's most popular figures.
"Anthony passed away suddenly on Wednesday 28th October. "
"We are liaising closely with Anthony's family.
"At their request and out of respect for their privacy, we will only post information when the family feels it is the right time to do so.
"I'm sure anyone reading this will join us in extending their thoughts and deepest condolences to the family at this extremely sad time."
Crewe Market Hall said it would share further information only when Anthony's family felt the time was right.
Our thoughts are with Anthony's family, friends, customers and everyone who knew him.
