Three Walsall FC fans arrested after clashing with Crewe supporters

Three Walsall fans were arrested after clashing with Crewe Alexandra supporters in the EFL League Two encounter over the weekend, with one local fan assaulted.
On Saturday 14 March, a high Cheshire Police presence was deployed to maintain law and order at Gresty Road, with the match kicking off at 3pm.
Across the game, which Crewe lost 3-0, officers arrested a trio of Walsall fans, with a man, 46, detained for assault and criminal damage and two men, both aged 28, for the use of threatening and abusive language.
The male, of Wolverhampton, arrested for criminal damage and assault, has since been released on conditional bail.
Both Saddlers supporters arrested for threatening and abusive language have been issued with community resolution orders.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "We can confirm that three people were arrested following the Crewe Alex v Walsall match on Saturday 14 March.
"A 28-year-old man from Walsall arrested for use of threatening and abusive language, he has since been issued with a community resolution order.
"A 46-year-old man from Wolverhampton arrested for criminal damage and assault, he has since been released on conditional bail.
"A 28-year-old man from Pelsall arrested for use of threatening and abusive language, he has since been issued with a community resolution order."
Crewe's 3-0 home defeat kept Lee Bell's side in ninth position, three points adrift of the playoff places. Walsall sit 10th, behind The Alex on goal difference.
