Officers from Crewe's Proactive CID Team have arrested a woman and two men from Staffordshire, following an investigation into the illegal importation of drugs from the United States.

A man and woman were arrested in Staffordshire on 8 September and a second man was arrested on 15 September.

A 36 year-old woman and 35 year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme were both arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug Cocaine and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug Cannabis.

A further 28-year-old man from Audley was arrested on suspicion of improper importation of goods, controlled drugs of Class B into the UK, and Possession of Criminal Property.

Items were also seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act, including expensive clothing, a Polaris Quad bike and Jet Ski.

All three have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 48-year-old man from Crewe was also brought in for questioning as part of the team's enquiries.
