Suspected thief arrested on suspicion of carrying a knife in Crewe

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in Crewe, after previously being reported for trying car doors.
On Monday 18 August, Cheshire Police were alerted to a male carrying a knife in the town.
During the morning hours, officers located the man on Dunwoody Way, arresting him for the offence.

Once arrested, police learnt the suspect was the same man reported for trying to get into cars earlier that day.
It came to light the man had entered a vehicle, potentially stealing cash from it.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and public order offences.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "A male was arrested by officers on Monday 18 August after a string of offences.
"That morning, we received a report of a male carrying a knife in public.
"Response officers managed to locate him on Dunwoody way Crewe where he was detained and arrested.

"Further information came to light he was seen trying car doors earlier in the morning, and he had entered a vehicle potentially stealing cash.
"He has now been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article, theft from a motor vehicle, public order and other offences."
