A teenager was taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a car close to Crewe Alex FC, just hours before a home match.

On Saturday 27 January, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident on Gresty Road.

At around 12:48pm, officers arrived at the scene, discovering a car had collided with a pedestrian.

An 18-year-old man was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precaution (Cheshire Police).

No arrests were made, with the teenager's injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 12.48pm on Saturday 27 January, a car was involved in a collision with a man on Gresty Road.

"The 18-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital as a precaution."
