Teenage cyclist, 13, taken to hospital after being hit by car in Crewe

A teenage boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries, after being hit by a car at a Crewe accident hotspot.

On Thursday 18 September, Cheshire Police were alerted to an incident on Walthall Street, at the junction with Gainsborough Road.

At 3.13pm, emergency services arrived at the scene, discovering a 13-year-old boy had been knocked off his bike in a crash with a Volkswagen Passat.

The boy sustained minor injuries to his leg and was taken to Leighton Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.

No arrests were made in the incident, one of half a dozen reported crashes at this junction already in 2025.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 3.13pm on Thursday 18 September, officers responded to reports of a collision on Walthall Street, Crewe.

"Attending the scene, officers found that the collision occurred between a Volkswagen Passat and a cyclist.

"The cyclist, a 13-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries to his leg and was taken to Leighton Hospital.

"The driver of the Volkswagen, a 42-year-old man, sustained no injuries. No arrests have been made."
