Fire crews respond to major incident near Bentley Motors in Crewe

Fire crews have responded a to huge blaze near Bentley Motors in Crewe, with a number of sheds and trees on fire.

On Friday 19 September, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a major incident on farmland off Middlewich Road, across from Bentley Motors.

At 7.51pm, fire engines from Crewe, Nantwich, Middlewich, Sandbach and Alsager arrived at the scene.

Firefighters remain at the scene, with a significant emergency response dealing with the incident.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Just before 8pm, North West Fire Control received a number of calls to reports of a fire in the open on Middlewich Road.

"On arrival, they found a fire involving a number of sheds, hedgerows and trees.

"The incident was split into sectors and crews are making good progress.

"Six firefighters used breathing apparatus, four hose reels and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

"The fire is now under control and crews are damping down the area. They will remain at the scene for a couple of hours."
