Storage giant, Lock Stock, has started work on its first site in the "thriving and busy" town of Crewe, as it continues its expansion into Cheshire.

The new state-of-the-art eco-conscious storage park will occupy a 1.2 acre site on Frances Street, regenerating the area devastated by a major fire at a disused printworks in August 2024.

North Wales-based Lock Stock Self Storage, the UK's largest container-based storage company, expects to open the new site at the junction of Catherine Street and Frances Street in November.

It will have capacity of more than 150 storage units and will continue the business's rapid expansion into Cheshire where it has already opened four sites in 2025 in Winsford, Runcorn and Northwich. There are also sites in Lostock and Wincham.

The new Crewe site will boast solar-powered security lighting and keyless entry with opening hours from 6am to 11pm.

It will also have a brand new advanced booking system with monitored CCTV and an intercom with a live video link to head office in Denbigh so new customers can sign up and start storing almost immediately.

Operations Manager, Mike Trow, told Nub News: "We are delighted to continue our expansion into Cheshire with our first storage park in the south of the county and our specialist team are on site and on schedule to open next month.

"We see Crewe as a thriving and busy town with a great commercial tradition and we believe our flexible and affordable storage is a perfect fit.

"Our customers benefit from secure, keyless coded entry, reflecting our focus on simplicity and flexibility. There's no minimum rental period, no notice required to vacate, and customers only pay for the time they use."

Approximately 70 per cent of Lock Stock customers are private individuals, house movers or those storing treasured belongings, while around 40 per cent of units are used by small businesses to store tools, equipment, and stock and more.

The company is also seeing rising demand from students needing short-term storage and offers a unique off-site container hire and sale service, delivering units directly to customer locations via its own fleet.
