Specials seize abandoned car after Crewe retail park crash

By Gwyn Griffiths 27th Aug 2021

POLICE Specials seized a car left abandoned on Crewe's Grand Junction Retail Park after it crashed into a road sign.

The vehicle, which hit the sign at the entrance to the retail park, was leaking oil.

Firefighters from Crewe Fire Station used absorbent mats to mop up the spillage before making it safe last night (Saturday) after arriving on the scene at 9.44pm.

Police took the car away and Cheshire Specials tweeted: "S/SGT Davis & SC Morrall signing off after three days on duty. Final shift saw us attending a variety of jobs. Finished off the shift by seizing an abandoned vehicle. Vehicle recovered, highways made safe."

There were no reports of any injuries and the driver of the car is reported to have been tracked down.
