Innovative marketing firm develops ‘Apprentice Style’ approach to boost business
Most of us are familiar with Sir Alan Sugar's famous hard-hitting TV programme - 'The Apprentice'.
A team of business-hungry young entrepreneurs compete head-to-head on a number of money-spinning tasks.
They cover the full marketing mix from product, price, placement, and promotion, thinking on the spot to produce all kinds of ideas.
A cutting-edge South Cheshire marketing firm has adopted a similar exercise - to keep its staff 'on point' and the ideas flowing.
Owner, Carl Boulton, likes to ensure that every member of his marketing business, Swift Cheshire, delivers the best return for its clients.
Every week, if not more often, the innovative businessman calls a '10-minute project brief' where staff are tasked with delivering a project.
Commenting on the approach Carl said: "We have an amazing team at Swift Cheshire that has been hand-picked to ensure we have all of the expertise needed to offer our clients the full marketing mix under one roof.
"Implementing our '10 minute briefs' - on existing and hypothetical clients - has been a really fun exercise and enabled the team to think beyond the constraints of budgets, focusing on big ideas and big outcomes that we have then been able to scale down and tailor for real life clients.
"We are a marketing company with a difference," he said. "Everything is under one roof.
"We have hand-picked staff to ensure they fit the mix and are able to deliver everything under one roof.
"Time means money to business and they don't have time to wait - they want quick results with a long result.
"As an agency, we pride ourselves on delivering innovation and impact at every opportunity, whether that's creating a new brand identity, writing winning award-entries or driving social media engagement - we love what we do and we do it well.
"The client is at the centre of everything we do - whether it be creating a new brand, helping them to target customers or improving their Social Media presence."
Swift Cheshire is an integrated marketing agency based at Edwin Foden Business Centre in Elworth and recently increased its team to 11 members of staff.
The cutting-edge firm, which describes itself as having 'a quirky team, each bringing a unique skill to the mix' doesn't need to outsource anything, which helps to keep costs down and speeds up the process.
The agency has recently welcomed a number of new recruits including Conner Davies recently j who joined as graphic designer and photographer earlier this year, Matt King in the role of social media manager and most recently, Samantha Tidd who has joined as content executive.
Graduating in 2020 with a Masters degree in marketing with luxury brands, Conner joins from Chester-based luxury jeweller, Lucy Quartermaine, where he used his specialisms in graphic design and photography in his role as head of marketing, to deliver diverse marketing initiatives to boost the brand's awareness.
And firms can use Conner's skills to improve their business when Swift Cheshire holds a headshot day thisweek on Wednesday (September 25th) in Sandbach to give local companies the opportunity to have their professional photos updated. Book your space now to avoid disappointment. Book now here
Meanwhile Matt King had an 18-month stint at iconic Manchester fashion brand The Couture Club, bringing a diverse set of experience elevating start-ups and global brands through the power of social media.
With four years at Edge Hill University studying Creative Writing and a 12-month stint at Venture Studios working on everything from copywriting to social media and more, Samanatha Tidd was the natural choice for the content executive position.
Carl Boulton is proud of the business he's created. Clients cover an array of sectors - from the food industry, to the legal world and hospitality industry and everything in between and they are businesses of all sizes – from start-ups to larger SMEs.
"Our staff are all specialists in their field and are chosen for their driven skills, knowledge and experience and business acumen," said Carl.
"Our 10-minute project briefs showcase their skills and just like The Apprentice, we're looking for them to compete and deliver their knowledge to ensure success!".
