A popular 17th century Crewe bar, restaurant and hotel has been put up for sale, Nub News can exclusively reveal.

The White Lion Weston, Main Road, set in a former 1652 farmhouse, has been owned by a local Mr. Carl Boulton, since 2021. 

Across the past three and a half years, Mr Boulton has expanded the venue's offering, including the addition of an outdoor entertainment area.

Mr Boulton told Nub News: "We have launched a new food menu, won multiple awards, introduced many new marketing and financial back off electronic systems and fully booked our hotel.

"All these good things have happened and I would like someone else to have a go now. 

"At The White Lion Weston we do many events and weddings each year, we have done 30 weddings this year alone. No one would know that. It is a hell of a lot, considering there is a church across the way from here. 

"This venue has a 25-year open lease. You can do whatever you want with this place without a restriction from a brewery,

"Everything you can see in this building is yours. The business sale includes full fixture and fittings, stock and the running business.

"We are selling based on the business carrying on, with no downtime.

Across the past three and a half years, owner, Carl Boulton, has expanded the The White Lion Weston's offering, including the addition of an outdoor entertainment area (The White Lion Weston).

"This includes the multiple on-going bookings for weddings and special occasions, the hotel bookings and events we put on ourselves."

With a population of around 2,000, the The White Lion is Weston's main attraction, with The Church of All Saints also just around the corner.

Employing 51 members of staff, the Grade II-listed venue is made up of kitchen members, bar staff, from of house staff, management, cleaners and night porters.

Carl said: "Wychwood Park, its golf course and Crewe Hall are all less than a mile away from here.

"Crewe Railway Station is also just two and a half miles way, and junction 16 of the M6 less than three miles away.

"What a great location this place is in, perfect for all local transport links and a growing local community.

"The White Lion Weston is in the perfect place for an experienced hospitality group to take it to the next level, I have grown it to a two million pound business, the next owners can go far and beyond this.

"I have loved my time here. It is now time for someone else to have a go."
