Crewe restaurant appeals after man steals cash from till
A Crewe restaurant is appealing after a man stole money from its till over the weekend, with Cheshire Police appealing for information.
On Sunday 24 November, officers received reports of a theft from Bombaye Junction, Nantwich Road.
Staff were busy in the kitchen preparing orders during a busy period when a group of young lads entered the restaurant.
The thief, who identified himself as "Louie," hung around the counter and asked the employee for a meal and said he didn't have money so he would pay back tomorrow.
After some back and forth, the employee out of kindness agreed to give the boy a chicken curry and rice meal.
The man spoke to the owner of the restaurant at length and came back, told her the food was good and that he would leave them a good review.
Then, as all the employees were preparing their next orders, the man quietly went behind the counter and opened the cash register, taking all the money.
This theft was all captured on Bombaye Junction's CCTV camera.
The man was spotted by an employee instantly and starting running away. He ran through United Carpets Car Park and down the alleyway towards Hewitt Street.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 5.20pm on Sunday 24 November, police were called to reports of a burglary at a restaurant on Nantwich Road.
"The caller reported how a man had entered the store on Sunday and stolen a quantity of cash from the till while it was unmanned.
