A Crewe business owner will celebrate his 14th anniversary running the store this August, saying it has been a "privilege" to manage it for so long.

United Carpets, Nantwich Road, has been owned and managed by local businessman Eddie Davies since 2010.

In August, he will be celebrating his 14th anniversary at the Nantwich Road store.

Eddie said: "It has a privilege to be supplying flooring for the people of Crewe and the surrounding towns and villages for so long.

Owner and manager of United Carpets Crewe, Eddie Davies, says it is a 'privilege' to run the store for so long (United Carpets).

"With my assistant manager Gavin Chesters, who has been working with me from day one, we are seeing not only returning customers, but customers who are bringing their children in, when they have moved out and into their own first home.

Eddie lives just outside Crewe with his wife and their rescue dog Max (who ensures he hits his target of at least 11,000 steps a day.

Outside of work, Eddie loves cricket and football, with his store sponsored Crewe Alex with a pitch-side board. He is also a huge music fan.

Eddie said: "Fortunately my wife and I have similar tastes so there are very few arguments about who we are going to see."

Eddie is interested in local issues too, as a member of the Nantwich Road Action Group, who champion the residents and businesses of Nantwich Road and its adjoining streets.

He is also keen to see what the newly-formed Crewe Business Improvement District (BID) will achieve.

Eddie Davies is a big football fan with his United Carpets store sponsoring Crewe Alex with a pitch-side board (United Carpets).

Always looking out for new stock for his customers, Eddie has recently taken on six ranges of recycled carpets, plus new lines in laminate flooring, as well as having several finance options.

Eddie added: "When it's my own name over the door it means so much more to me to get it right.

"Being owner-managed, this store can offer greater continuity and excellent service, so a better and more confident customer relationship."
