A new retirement living development for Crewe will be presented to the public this June, as Housing 21 hosts a drop-in information session in Haslington.

The session takes place on Wednesday 24 June from 11am to 2pm at St Matthews Church Hall, Park Road, Haslington (CW1 5TQ).

Residents will be able to view plans for the proposed Matilda Court scheme, speak directly with the project team and find out more about rents, eligibility and how to apply.

Matilda Court is being built on 53A Herbert Street, Crewe, (CW1 5DQ), designed exclusively for people aged 55 and over.

The development will provide 47 apartments in total, made up of 34 one-bedroom and 13 two-bedroom homes, all offered for social rent.

Housing 21 says the scheme is aimed at supporting independent living for older residents who want to downsize without leaving the area.

The plans include landscaped gardens and a communal lounge, designed to create shared spaces for residents and visitors.

A Local Housing Manager will be based at the development to oversee day-to-day operations and provide support where needed.

This scheme is being delivered as an all-electric, low-carbon build. Its location has been selected to keep residents close to everyday services across Crewe, including supermarkets, healthcare and leisure facilities.

The drop-in format will allow people to attend at any point during the two-hour window.

Information packs will be available on the day, including brochures, floor plans and details of rental costs.

All homes will be for social rent only, there is a nominations agreement in place with Cheshire East Council and Housing 21.

People can register their interest in advance by emailing [email protected] or calling 0127 089 5047.
