Residents, volunteers and local leaders gathered in Crewe for YMCA Cheshire's latest Community Meal.

The event took place at YMCA's Gresty Road site on Friday 15 May, with free food served between 12pm and 1.30pm.

The monthly meal is held on the third Friday of every month and aims to bring people together through food and conversation.

May's event also marked the soft launch of YMCA Cheshire's new Stories of Change campaign.

A small exhibition shared the experiences of former service users, highlighting stories of resilience and transformation.

YMCA Cheshire also supported the global 1,000,000 Acts of Hope campaign during the afternoon.

Guests were given small tokens of hope, including tea bags, encouraging reflection on acts of kindness within communities.

Deputy CEO Becky Parke welcomed guests and encouraged people to take part in YMCA Cheshire's 2027–2032 strategy consultation.

The Mayor of Crewe, Sally Graham, attended the event and received a gift from the charity in recognition of her support over the past year.

Crewe MP Connor Naismith (Labour) also attended, speaking with guests and completing the strategy survey.

YMCA Cheshire told Nub News: "This particular event was especially meaningful as it also marked the soft launch of our new Stories of Change campaign.

"This project highlights the real journeys, resilience, and transformation of former YMCA Cheshire service users through a small exhibition shared during the afternoon.

"We were also grateful to welcome the Mayor of Crewe, Sally Graham, and Connor Naismith MP, who both spent time engaging with attendees and supporting the event."
