Crewe young people gain real-world skills through engineering partnership

Young people in Crewe took part in a series of employability and digital skills workshops, delivered through a partnership between Crewe Engineering & Design UTC, Bentley Motors and The Dome Youth Zone.

The initiative brought together students from across the town for hands-on sessions designed to build confidence, strengthen technical knowledge and provide insight into modern engineering careers.

Throughout the programme, students took part in mock assessment centres, robotics masterclasses and collaborative problem-solving sessions.

Activities were led by UTC staff, Bentley engineers and youth workers from The Dome, giving participants the opportunity to experience real-world scenarios and develop key workplace skills.

The workshops enabled students from both UTC and The Dome Youth Zone (launching later this year), to work alongside industry professionals while gaining a clearer understanding of career pathways within engineering and manufacturing.

Partners involved in the programme were thanked for supporting the initiative and helping to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators in Crewe.
