Crewe Engineering and Design UTC, West Street, in collaboration with Transport for Wales, hosted a special event celebrating the 200th anniversary of the railway.

Over 500 students attended from local primary and secondary schools to experience a range of engineering workshops, an apprenticeship mock assessment centre and a special railway careers fair.

The college has close links with Transport for Wales who have invested heavily in the area as Crewe remains a key town in their borders region.

Principal of Crewe UTC, Will Chitty, told Nub News: "It was a pleasure to welcome so many local children to the college for the day.

"I was so impressed with how well every single young person applied themselves to the wide range of workshops and activities we ran.
