A special country music fundraiser with a host of Western-themed activities is coming to Crewe.

Dance Floor Heroes Does Nashville takes place at The Arena, High Street, on Sunday 20 September from 2pm.

BCMA award winner Rob Wheeler will perform that afternoon, while organiser, Charlotte Pemberton, will teach a number of beginner line dance routines.

Guests can also take part in Western-themed games including cornhole and ring toss.

There will be a country-themed selfie photo booth, prizes for the best-dressed cowgirl and cowboy, and a raffle.

The Arena's full kitchen will be open, serving Nashville-style food and drink.

Tickets cost £5 for adults, with children admitted free with a paying adult.

All proceeds will go to Tia's Crown, a mental health charity.

The event is being organised as Charlotte prepares to compete in Dance Floor Heroes - Allstars, the charity's biggest fundraiser of the year.

She has reached the final 12 and, to mark the event's fifth anniversary, has been selected to compete in a Champions of Champions dance competition at Blackpool Winter Gardens on 27 November.

Charlotte works at Leighton Hospital as a cardiac physiologist and has 20 years' NHS service.

She told Nub News: "I'm really excited and looking forward to it.

"I think it's amazing Rob has agreed to help me and he knows that it's for a cause close to my heart after going through some personal struggles of my own a few years ago. He's a true friend.

"I think the three of us will have a blast catching up and running this event.

"I'm doing my homework on the line dancing routines, and putting together plans for the raffle and prizes for the party games but I'm actually enjoying the challenge.

"Also, how lucky am I to be doing Dance Floor Heroes? I am really excited and nervous for that. There will be some harsh judging from the panel of Strictly stars so I need to up my game."

Charlotte, Rob Wheeler and The Arena owner, Lawrence Thomason, all attended Alsager School together and have not seen each other in nearly 30 years.
