Sunrise Laundry in Crewe has given a new lease of life to hundreds of linen items through its annual stock cleanse.

Rather than disposing of sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, towels, and table linens, the Gateway company reached out to the local community via Facebook throughout January.

Sunrise Laundry generated over 250,000 views on this, engaging with numerous charities and individuals across Cheshire and Staffordshire.

More than 11 charities benefited from Sunrise Laundry's linen donation (Nub News).

More than 11 charities benefited from the donations, including:

  • Paw Prints to Freedom
  • Bubblebecca Pugs
  • St John's Church and Welcome Centre
  • The British Royal Legion (Middlewich)
  • Pebbles Legacy
  • Scooby Spanish Dog Rescue
  • Crewe and District Cat Rescue
  • Knutsford and District Trust for Animals
  • Sanctus St Marks
  • YMCA North Staffs
  • Sandbach Pantry

The initiative supported multiple community projects, including a woman making reusable Morsbags to reduce plastic waste, a local theatre group, as well as brownies and primary school craft projects.

Sunrise Laundry told Nub News: "We were thrilled to connect with so many charities, community groups, and individuals who could make use of these items.

"Not only does this support local people and animals, but it also helps reduce waste by repurposing perfectly good linen.

"With budgets tight and demand high, it is incredibly rewarding to provide these items where they're needed most."

Sunrise Laundry Services, Gateway, has been operating on Crewe Industrial Estate since September 2018, with Chris Gillard and daughter Danielle pictured (Nub News).

Sunrise Laundry's act of generosity has been praised for its positive social and environmental impact.

By rehoming these essential items, the business has helped ease financial pressures on charities and individuals while promoting sustainability.

With such a successful response, the Crewe company hopes to run a similar initiative next year, continuing its mission to support the community and reduce waste.
