Road closures and traffic controls in place for emergency gas works in Crewe

Road closures and traffic controls are now underway for around five weeks at a busy junction in Crewe, allowing emergency gas works to take place.
Cadent Gas commenced works on Brookland Avenue, Crewe Road, Rope Lane and Springfield Drive, Wells Green, on Tuesday 9 January.
Two-way signals on Crewe Road will be in place until Saturday 10 February.
Rope Lane will remain closed, between the junctions of Springfield Drive (no left turn) and Crewe Road, until Monday 13 February.
Brookland Avenue, between the junctions of Crewe Road and Nessina Grove, will also remain closed until Monday 13 February.
Cadent Gas are the UK's largest gas distribution network, managing a network of more than 80,000 miles of pipes.
The network is carrying out emergency gas works under the highway authority of Cheshire East Council.
Cadent Gas' Crewe depot dates back to 1864. It transports gas to 11 million customers across the UK, with most of the pipes underground.
