Brine Leas Academy is taking to the Crewe Lyceum Theatre stage with two evening performances of The Addams Family Musical, showcasing the Nantwich school's impressive young talent.

Running on Thursday 9 July and Friday 10 July at 7pm, Brine Leas Academy's The Addams Family School Edition follows the success of its Grease production in 2022.

Performing in a professional theatre can be daunting, but from the opening number the cast looked completely at home, delivering a confident, polished production full of energy and personality.

The central performances gave the show its strength.

Maya P and Lola B H were well matched as Gomez and Morticia, while Archie B and Erin A impressed as Mal and Alice, Lucas' parents.

Alongside Poppy W as Wednesday and Alfie N as Lucas, the family relationships felt natural and believable, balancing comedy with genuine emotion.

Rafe L also stood out as Uncle Fester, bringing warmth, humour and plenty of charm to the role.

Musically, the production was equally strong.

Supported by a live band under the direction of Siobhan McKnight and Ray Butcher, the vocals were clear, harmonies were tight and the show maintained its pace throughout.

The months of rehearsal were evident in the professionalism on display.

Crewe Lyceum's audience rewarded the cast and crew with a standing ovation at the final curtain, recognising the hard work that had gone into the production.

Brine Leas Academy has once again shown it can produce a musical of a high standard, making full use of the Crewe theatre stage over its two-night run.
