THE pandemic didn't stop people marking Remembrance Sunday in Crewe.
Servicemen, their families and local army cadets ensured there was a low-key presence at Memorial Square in the town centre to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice. See the PICTURE GALLERY ABOVE.
Wreaths left at Crewe Town Council's office were taken and placed at the War Memorial, while others brought their own wreaths.
A two-minute silence was observed at 11am and while there was no service - the limited event which had been planned was cancelled last week - over 70 people milled around to pay their respects and share memories, including Crewe Town Mayor Cllr Benn Minshall.
At Haslington a small socially-distanced event was held with members of the RBL's Haslington and Crewe Green Branch and parish councillors.
Wreaths were laid and the Last Post was played by a member of the Fodens Band at 11am followed by the two-minute silence.
Haslington Parish Council has placed ceremonial poppies in the flower bed by the Millennium Stone on the village green bearing the names of those commemorated on Haslington War Memorial, which were read out at the event.
Many people marked Remembrance at home by taking part in the national Doorstep Remembrance.
There were several impromptu street gatherings, while others watched the several local live streams that were hosted online.
