AN investigation has been launched into an arson attack on a motorbike in Wistaston last night.

Firefighters were called to the blaze, which had engulfed the bike, in woodland near to Fuller Drive after 9pm.

The motorbike was well alight on a footpath and the fire crew used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.

The bike was completely destroyed.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "The fire is believed to have been started deliberately."

Anyone with any information about the fire should call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML 1002513, or report details here.

A wheelie bin fire which spread to a property in Claughton Avenue yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon is also being investigated.

Fire officers found two wheelie bins well alight at the property with the fire causing damage to the house. They cut away burnt areas of fascias, but a spokesperson said the fire did not spread to the inside of the house and no-one was injured.
