A popular Crewe sweet shop is currently closed after its windows were attacked by a person with a hammer - causing a considerable 'mess.'

Truly Scrumtious, Victoria Street, Crewe town centre, was vandalised at 7:24pm on Monday 20 March.

The sweet shop was due to open at 9:30am on Tuesday 21 March, but remained closed with its front windows badly damaged.

Truly Scrumtious was attacked by one individual with a hammer.

It is offering a 'good reward' to anyone who can help Cheshire Police identify the suspect leading to them being charged.

On Tuesday morning, Truly Scrumtious made a statement on social media - announcing it would be closed for a 'couple of days.'

The statement read: "Due to someone attacking our shop windows last night, we will be out for a couple of days.

Truly Scrumtious is offering a 'good reward' to anyone who can aid the police with the investigation - identifying the suspect (Nub News).

"As you see from pictures, there is a mess and the person using a hammer to smash them had hidden their face well.

"If anyone can give the police information, which results in them being charged there is a good reward for them."

Truly Scrumtious sweet shop, slush bar and milkshake bar relocated to Victoria Street from Hightown in October 2022.

Cheshire Police confirmed the shop attack incident to Nub News on Tuesday morning.

A statement read: "On Monday 20 March police received reports of criminal damage at at a shop on Victoria Street, Crewe. 

"The caller reported that a number of windows had been smashed at the store. 

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire police via its website (Nub News).

Truly Scrumtious is usually open 9:30am to 5:00pm (Monday to Friday) and 10:00am to 5:00pm (Saturday).
