Popular Crewe Chinese takeaway closes down after more than 20 years in business

A popular Chinese takeaway in Crewe has closed down after more than 20 years of trading due to 'unforeseen circumstances' - according to the owners.

Ko's Kitchen, Edleston Road, closed its doors for the last time on Wednesday (August 31).

The Chinese and English takeaway has been a mainstay to Crewe for over two decades - located just a two-minute walk from the town centre.

Owners, Steve and Anna, have run the business since the very start.

On its last night of trading, the pair thanked all of its customers over the years.

Ko's Kitchen posted on its social media, saying: "Our last night tonight. A huge thank you for the many years of continuous support.

"Our dear customers that have become close friends over the past 20 years.

"Thank you for all the lovely cards & gifts, we wish you all health, happiness & prosperity.

"We will be forever grateful. Best wishes, Steve and Anna."

Ko's Kicthen has been a mainstay in Crewe for over two decades (Ko's Kitchen).

Over the years, Ko's Kitchen has attracted a variety of customers from across South Cheshire. It has managed a Google rating of 4.8/5 from 49 reviews.

Back in July, Nub News included Ko's Kitchen within its top five Google rated food takeaways in Crewe.

The takeaway was joint-second, alongside P&C Thai Taste, Nantwich Road, Corfu (Coffee Breakfast and Lunch), Nantwich Road and Snack Shack, Middlewich Street.

Ko's Kitchen's most recent Google review came from Crewe resident, Mark Larvin.

Ko's Kitchen has a rated of 4.8/5 on both Google and Facebook (Ko's Kitchen).

He said: "I visited KO's for the first time tonight. I don't normally leave a review but felt I had to share how good it was.

"From placing the order to picking it up I was greeted in a really friendly way.

"I had the set meal for two which was not only delicious and full of flavour, there was enough for probably four people.

"I won't be going anywhere else from now on."

Ko's Kitchen, Edleston Road, was located just a two-minute walk from the town centre (Ko's Kitchen).

Ko's Kitchen first announced its anticipated closure on Wednesday (August 10) - giving its customers three weeks notice.

The Chinese posted on social media, saying: "Dear valued customers, we are very sad to announce that after Wednesday 31st August 2022, 9:30pm, we will be closing our doors.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances we have no choice but to make this heavy hearted decision to say 'good bye' for now. We may or may not open again in the future.

"But for now, we want to say a massive thank you to all our customers/ friends that have supported us for so long.

On its last night of trading, Owners Steve and Anna, thanked all of its customers over the years (Ko's Kitchen).

"We hope to see you before we close but we wish you all the very best."

Currently, the closest Chinese takeaway to Ko's Kitchen is The Golden Phoenix, Edleston Road.
