Police respond to late night high-speed chase across Crewe

Cheshire Constabulary responded to a high-speed chase across Crewe - with a police helicopter circling in the town in the middle of the night.

The incident happened across the Coppenhall area of Crewe at approximately 12am today (October 17).

Local residents reported a large number of Cheshire Police cars chasing a vehicle in Crewe.

Police were seen on Groby Road, Broughton Road and other streets in the town - driving at high speeds to try and catch a vehicle.

Residents reported police were chasing a 'works type van.'

A number of people were woken up by the 'loud' sirens and helicopter.
