Police release two on bail as enquiries into Crewe cyclist's death continues

POLICE say that two people arrested in connection with the death of a cyclist in Crewe have been released on bail

The 41-year-old woman sadly died after what was described as a 'hit-and-run' incident on Hungerford Road at around 6.55am on Monday.

Cheshire Police have not yet released her identity.

The driver of the car, which police described as a silver saloon, drove off in the direction of the M6.

A 20-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent and an 18-year-old woman, also from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "I can confirm that the two suspects have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries."

Officers are seeking dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid the investigation.
