Police probe after 'poisoners' leave choc 'treats' for Crewe dogs

By Gwyn Griffiths 27th Aug 2021

POLICE are investigating potential dog poisoning incidents in Crewe.

It is understood several dog owners sought out veterinary treatment after their animals fell sick from eating pieces of chocolate that were left in their gardens.

Two separate incidents were reported last Saturday (February 13) in properties close to each other, one in Greendale Gardens and the other at Plane Tree Drive, near to Sir William Stanier School.

Pieces of chocolate, which are being linked to the dogs falling unwell, were found in private gardens at both properties.

The first incident was reported at 4.50pm at the property on Greendale Gardens and the second at 5.50pm by a resident on Plane Tree Drive.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "The residents were concerned the chocolate may have been placed there in an attempt to poison their dogs."

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information should call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 917032.
