Investigation underway after sports car left abandoned under Crewe railway bridge

A Cheshire Police investigation is now underway after a sports car was left abandoned under a Crewe railway bridge - temporarily blocking the road.

The incident under Cumberland bridge, Middlewich Street, happened at 4:20pm on Thursday 2 February.

A blue Audi A3 Sport was left abandoned at the bridge's traffic lights - temporarily blocking the road.

A blue Audi A3 Sport was left abandoned at Cumberland Bridge traffic lights - temporarily blocking Middlewich Street (Nub News).

Police officers quickly arrived at the scene - unable to trace the occupants of the Audi.

Middlewich Street was blocked while the abandoned A3 Sport was recovered.

Enquiries in relation to this incident are now underway.

On Friday (February 3), Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "At 4.20pm on Thursday 2 February, police were made aware of a blue Audi A3 Sport which had been abandoned at the traffic lights under Cumberland bridge, Middlewich Street, and was blocking the road. 

"Police attended and there was no trace of the occupants. 

"The road was temporarily blocked while the vehicle was recovered. 

"Enquiries in relation to the occupants of the car are ongoing."

Middlewich Street from Cumberland Bridge was blocked while the abandoned Audi A3 Sport was recovered (Google).
