Cheshire Police have been informed of an arson attack on a bin in Crewe on Monday evening (24 August).

At 8.52pm, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on Westminster Street.

One fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering the flames were already out.

As a precaution, Crewe firefighters used a bucket of water to dampen down the surrounding area.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters attended a bin fire in Crewe.

"The fire was out on arrival, and a bucket of water was used to dampen down the surrounding area as a precaution.

"Police were informed of this incident, as this is believed to have been lit deliberately."
