Police hunt for man 'attempting to break into cars' by Crewe Alex stadium

Cheshire Police are appealing for information in relation to a man in Crewe - 'attempting to break into cars' over the weekend.

The incident on Gresty Road, close to The Mornflake Stadium, happened at approximately 9:50pm on Saturday (January 7).

Cheshire Police made a search of the Crewe area - with assistance from a police helicopter circling Crewe South.

The man was not found on Gresty Road. An appeal to locate him has now been launchedby Cheshire Police (Stephen McKay).

Officers were also assisted by sniffer dogs - attempting to trace the wanted man.

On Monday (January 9), Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "At around 9.50pm on Saturday 7 January, police were called to reports of a man attempting to break into cars on Gresty Road, Crewe. 

Cheshire Police Officers were assisted by a police helicopter and sniffer dogs (Crewe Police).

"Officers made a search of the area with assistance from the police helicopter. 

"Enquiries in relation to this incident are underway."

Anyone with any information, CCTV or dash cam footage in relation to this incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police via its website or by calling 101 quoting IML 1451451. 

On Friday night (January 6), a Crewe resident reported their car was broken into on Stalbridge Road, off Edleston Road.

Cheshire Police made a search of the Crewe area - with assistance from a police helicopter circling Crewe South (Google).
