POLICE have confirmed the body of a man found in Crewe is that of a missing 24-year-old.

The force issued an appeal today (Wednesday) for help finding Jordan Lawton, 24, who had not been seen since 11am on Monday.

Officers say Mr Lawton's death is "at this stage not believed to be suspicious".

The discovery was made after a search of a wooded area in the town.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Sadly officers searching for a missing man have found a body that has been formally identified as Jordan Lawton.

"His family are aware and we request their privacy be respected at this difficult time."
