Was just going past the spot on the way to the doctor's Earnswood medical centre.
Stopped at the lights guess what, one wagon six cars and a van all turned right.
It would be nice if the contractors working there would put the signage back up after being blown down.
It would help even though it stipulates on the traffic 🚦 lights NO RIGHT TURN.
Also I've noticed there is no alternative route to take,
You can turn left then first right into high down to the roundabout leading to mill street
Come on contractors you should play your part in this.

The junction, has been a notorious black spot for accidents for years. I have seen many drivers making an illegal right turn there including TAXIS. even the yellow box junction (IF you can see the markings) is often blocked by idiot drivers, some don't even know you can enter it if turning right & exit is clear, they just sit there. Difficult to judge what happened or who is exactly to blame, BUT that's a lot of damage.

No, it's not technically illegal to drive in flip-flops on UK roads, but it's highly discouraged and risky because it can lead to a "Driving Without Due Care" charge if it causes an accident or police deem you unable to control the vehicle, as loose footwear can slip or get caught under pedals, violating Rule 97 of the Highway Code about suitable footwear for controlling the car.

PCornes has noticed the important point - the traffic lights. It makes no difference whether the car was turning right illegally, the two vehicles shouldn't have been there at the same time in those positions. And he gets extra points for noticing the amount of square on damage to the front of the car, which indicates it was moving at a fair pace and coming from Wistaston Road - had this been a head on collsion between cars going in opposite direction on Edleston Road it would have looked very different. But I'm not aware of a law against driving in flip flops.

And that's where facts end. Because the article looks like it was written by a management consultant, a lot of words with a couple of pictures and at the end we learn little more than when we started. The police won't issue a follow up statement unless they want witnesses (unlikely) or it goes to court. And if it goes to court the press seats will be unoccupied....

The roadworks themselves are very badly managed by the latest bunch of self certified contractors, what signs there are at the junction are hopeless. And nothing will be done to tighten up on these things until somebody does get killed, at which a driver will be jailed and an office full of highways staff will pretend they knew nothing.

I quite agree with Chipper1507 and SusanCairol about the no right turn at the junction.
Let's look at the picture in more detail,
Has someone here jumped the lights,
To do the amount of damage to the Citroen car were their any sign of excessive speed to beat the lights.
I've noticed on the picture a person who is wearing white trousers black coat, looks like flip flops he's wearing is this the driver of one of the vehicles I ask.
I'm not saying it is but if so it's illegal to drive in such footwear.
I'm glad to see and hear no driver and passenger were hurt.
Vehicles can be repaired

It is clearly marked on the traffic light no right turn that means what it says if you don’t understand the sign that are on the traffic lights you shouldn’t be driving this it’s the first time this has happened it is becoming a regular occurrence I’ve witnessed this on many occasions people turning right when they are not meant to when will people wake up before someone dies.

Chipper1507

Considering Oak st was closed it looks like the car was turning right which you cant do.
