Police called after youths throw fireworks at cars in Crewe

Cheshire Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Crewe - where youths threw fireworks towards cars near the town's main park.

The incident outside Queens Park happened at approximately 10:45pm on Wednesday (October 26).

Crewe resident Nicolle Smith had fireworks thrown at her car - also witnessing them being thrown at others.

She warned people about the disturbance on social media, saying: "Be careful passing Queens Park.

"People are throwing fireworks at cars.

"Just had some thrown at mine and just missed my open window."

The Crewe resident confirmed she had reported this incident to the police.

Today (October 27), Cheshire Constabulary confirmed the incident to Nub News.

The incident was reported to Cheshire Police as a matter of urgency (Cheshire Constabulary).

A spokesperson said: "At around 10.45pm on Wednesday 26 October, police were called to reports that a group of youths were throwing fireworks towards cars by Queens Park, Crewe.

"Officers swiftly attended and made a search of the area but found no sign of the youths or any disturbance."

Local resident, Cyndy Jackson, was concerned the fireworks could have seriously injured someone.

She responded to the social media post, saying: "If that firework had gone into your car it could have caused serious injury to you and possibly others."

Crewe Police officers were unable to find the youths or witness the disturbance.
