Police believe a small garage fire in Crewe may have been started deliberately.

Two fire engines from Crewe went to the small garage fire in Alton Street at 5.12 pm yesterday (Sunday).

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

"They dampened down the area and ensured it was safe.

"Police were also in attendance as the fire is believed to have been started deliberately."
