Plans for new SEN school on Crewe Business Park
By Ryan Parker 31st Jul 2026
Plans have been submitted to convert offices on Crewe Business Park into a new SEN (Special Educational Needs) school.
Applicants, Mr and Mrs G Latham, of Lighthouse Invest Ltd, have applied for a change of use at unit 12 and 13 Mallard Court, Mallard Way.
A total of three class rooms are proposed at the site, along with an IT room, three offices and four toilets.
Two kitchens would also be in use at the facility, which backs on to Quakers Coppice and University Way,
SEN schools are designed for children and young people who have learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or neurodivergence requiring a level of customised support, mainstream schools cannot adequately provide.
A balance of small class sizes, specialist staff and adapted curriculums create the right environment to cater for cognition and learning, communication and interaction, social emotional and mental health (SEMH), and sensory and physical needs.
The last date for submitting comments is Wednesday 19 August, with a target decision date of Monday 21 September.
