Plans for new apartments above Crewe town centre clothing chain
By Ryan Parker 29th Jul 2026
Plans have been put forward for new apartments above a Crewe town centre ladies clothing chain, with no car parking proposed.
Applicant, Mr Jeremy Charles, of J Charles Property Services, has proposed a change of use of three floors at 3 to 5 Delamere Street, above New Look.
The applicant wants to create 11 new apartments, comprising one and two bedrooms.
Mr Charles proposes five apartments with a gym on the second floor, with four on the second floor and two on the third floor.
Eight cycle parking spaces are planned, along with bin storage and a secure courtyard.
A planning statement says: "The scheme comprises the conversion of the existing building to provide 11 residential units, including one-bed and two-bed apartments, retention of commercial floorspace at ground floor and new separate residential access.
"There will be Internal circulation cores with lift access, a secure courtyard, bin storage, and cycle parking (8 spaces).
"No car parking is proposed, which is appropriate for a central location and consistent with sustainable development principles.
"The proposal retains active commercial frontage at ground level, utilises vacant/underused upper floors and introduces new residents to support local businesses."
The late date for submitting comments is Wednesday 19 August, with a target decision date of Wednesday 16 September.
