Plans for 25 apartments above former Crewe town centre clothes shop

Plans have been put forward to convert old Crewe town centre office space above a closed down clothing shop into new apartments.
Applicant, Mr Matt Peddle, of Premier Living Homes Ltd, has applied for prior approval for a change of use of the first and second floors of Burford House, Prince Albert Street.
The applicant wants to transform the former offices into new 25 residential units, with 12 flats on the first floor and 13 on the second floor.

No plans have been submitted for the ground floor of Burford House, most recently occupied by Select Fashion.
The women's clothing chain relocated from the unit in July 2024 to The Market Shopping Centre, which has since closed down.
Select took on the site in 2015, with it previously operated by former clothing retailer Ethel Austin.
No changes have been proposed to the existing elevations on Prince Albert Street, Earle Street or Sandon Street.

The rear yard of Burford House, which includes existing gates, bin storage and a security fence, would also remain the same.
The last date for submitting comments on this application is Wednesday 4 June, with a target decision date of Thursday 26 June.
