Person taken to hospital following double decker bus collision near Crewe

Emergency services responded to a collision between a double decker bus and a car just outside Crewe - with one person taken to hospital.

The incident on Cross Lane, Minshull Vernon, happened at 5:39pm on Friday (October 21).

Two fire engines from Crewe, one fire engine and one Major Rescue Unit from Winsford attended the scene.

Cheshire Constabulary attended the incident - closing the road for approximately one hour and 45 minutes (Cheshire Constabulary).

The collision involved a white Ford Grand C-Max and a double decker bus.

Firefighters released one casualty from inside the car.

They were handed into the care of paramedics and taken to Leighton Hospital - 2.9 miles away.

Today (October 24), Cheshire Constabulary confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A Spokesperson said: "At around 5.30pm on Friday (October 21), police were called to reports of a collision on Cross Lane, Minshull Vernon.

"Officers attended the scene and found the incident involved two vehicles, a white Ford Grand C-Max and a double decker bus.

"There were no reports of any serious injuries, however, the road was blocked while recovery work was undertaken.

"The scene was cleared by 7.15pm."

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service also released a statement on the incident.

Two fire engines from Crewe, one fire engine and one Major Rescue Unit from Winsford attended the scene (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

A spokesperson said: "Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision involving a coach and a car.

"Crews released one casualty from inside the car, who was then handed into the care of paramedics."
