Person taken to hospital after car crashes into tree and overturns in Crewe

Emergency services quickly responded to a serious incident in Crewe where a car overturned - after hitting a tree and lamp post.

The incident on Queen Street happened at 8:52pm on Friday (December 2) - with one person being taken to hospital.

Emergency services quickly rushed to the scene - with two fire engines from Crewe, Cheshire Police officers and North West Ambulance Service paramedics.

The vehicle hit a tree and overturned on Queen Street (Jord Anthony William Tyler).

Queen Street/ Lime Tree Avenue was closed while the debris was cleared.

Highways engineers dealt with the damaged live lamp post.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A car had hit a tree and overturned with one casualty reported.

"The casualty had self-extricated and received care from firefighters in attendance.

"The vehicle had also damaged a nearby lamp post to highways were called to isolate the power."

Queen Street/ Lime Tree Avenue was closed while the debris was cleared and Highways engineers dealt with the damaged live lamp post (Jord Anthony William Tyler).

This incident happened opposite the 17th South West Cheshire Scout HQ, Queen Street.
