Crewe Town Council has announced its activity-packed school holiday events programme will return for 2025, featuring over 180 summer activities keeping kids occupied for free from 22 July to 31 August.

The Summer Festival of Fun is the new name for the Operation Summer programme, with the line-up is bigger and better than the previous three years.

Crewe Town Council's school holiday events provide Crewe families with fun, varied and quality activities and help to reduce the financial burden of the summer holidays for parents and carers.

This year, you can visit the Discover Crewe-on-Sea pop-up beach and play in the sand, learn about digital art and animation, immerse yourself in outdoor theatre productions at Queens Park and more.

There will be opportunities to for kids to get involved in drama, crafts, science, sports, nature and wildlife.

All of the activities are free-to-access family sessions, with a small number of activities at Crewe Library requiring attendees to book.

For each event, children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The schedule is being delivered by Crewe Town Council and will take place at various community locations:

  • Crewe Library
  • Crewe Heritage Centre
  • Lyceum Square
  • Wishing Well Children and Families Hub, Chester Bridge
  • Crewe Makes Art Space on Victoria Street
  • Christ Church
  • Local parks (including family fun days in Queens Park)

Visitors can play in the sand, chill in deckchairs and have lots of hands-on seaside fun.

Crewe Town Council has also funded Street Sports and Pop Up in the Parks projects, aiming to encourage young people to spend more time out of doors, have fun in a safe space and be more active.

These sessions will run throughout the school summer holidays in local parks and are delivered in partnership with local organisations Everybody Health & Leisure and The Wishing Well.

A Crewe Town Council spokesperson told Nub News: "Our summer school holiday activity programme is one of our favourite times of the year and we are proud to help families in Crewe access entertaining and engaging activities across the town without breaking the bank.

All of the activities are free-to-access family sessions, with a small number of activities at Crewe Library requiring attendees to book (Supplied).

"Summer Festival of Fun features more than 180 activities, which is our biggest offering yet.

"We can't wait to see Crewe families enjoying themselves throughout the summer break and would like to thank our partners for their involvement in delivering the activities."
