A new veterans hub is set to launch in an empty Crewe town centre unit this summer, backed by Connor Naismith MP.

On Wednesday 7 January, Mr Naismith met with Veterans Minister, Louise Sandher-Jones, to discuss plans for a Veterans Hub (VALOUR Cheshire) on High Street.

The VALOUR Cheshire proposal, led by Managing Director of Armed Forces Community HQ, led by Laura Ingham, is centred on establishing a new Armed Forces community hub in Crewe.

The intention is to take on a unit on High Street and use it as a dedicated social and support space for veterans and the wider Armed Forces community.

The meeting follows on from an earlier conversation Connor Naismith MP held with Laura on 17 December. She was joined by Lisa Murgatroyd and Richard Stephenson-Evans, the Armed Forces Lead at Cheshire East Council.

At that meeting, Connor Naismith promised his support for their bid under the VALOUR Recognised Centres Development Fund, funded by the Office for Veterans' Affairs to award grants of up to £1m to provide veterans, and then the wider armed forces community, with in-person guidance and support.

He then wrote a letter to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Veterans and People to outline the need for a VALOUR Cheshire Hub.

Having arranged the meeting with the Minister off the back of this letter, Mr Naismith reiterated the purpose of the VALOUR Hub to provide fully integrated trauma-informed care to veterans as a solution to fragmented pathways which mean ex-service personnel can fall through the net and struggle to receive care which addresses their needs.

Applications for the VALOUR Recognised Centres Development Fund close on 14 January 2026 at 12pm. A decision on successful applicants will be made by the end of March 2026.

Connor Naismith MP told Nub News: "The implementation of plans for a new VALOUR Hub in Crewe is absolutely essential to getting our Armed Forces community the integrated support it needs.

"VALOUR Cheshire is a stellar applicant for the government's Recognised Centres Development Fund and I will be following the outcome of their bid closely. I look forward to celebrating the opening of the centre later this year."
