A new Crewe convenience store is planning to open seven days per week in the town, located at a former milkshake and dessert shop.

On Friday 8 March, Gainsborough Minimart submitted a premises license application to open at 22 Gainsborough Road.

The new business seeks permission for the retail sale of alcohol, off the premises between 6am and 11pm (Monday to Sunday).

Gainsborough Minimart wants to open at the former Milkshakes & More shop on Gainsborough Road (Ryan Parker).

The licensing application is on display at the old Milkshakes & More shop, which closed in 2018.

This unit was most recently occupied by Concrete, a supported housing office tackling homelessness in Cheshire East.

The premises license application reads: "Notice is hereby given that we, Gainsborough Minimart Ltd have applied on 8 March to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as Gainsborough Minimart, 22 Gainsborough Road, Crewe.

"This is for a premises licence to provide the supply of alcohol, Monday to Sunday from 6am to 11pm."

Gainsborough Minimart seeks permission for the retail sale of alcohol, off the premises between 6am and 11pm (Monday to Sunday) (Ryan Parker).

Representations to Gainsborough Minimart's application shall be made in writing to Cheshire East Council Licensing Section on or before Friday 5 April.
