New utility and maintenance works started in an area of Crewe close to residential properties - taking place long through the night.
Scottish Power began utility and maintenance works on Ernest Street at around 10pm on Tuesday 14 March - with works continuing on Bedford Street past midnight.
Ernest Street is closed from the junction of Bedford Street to outside property number 95 until Wednesday 22 March.
Pedestrian access will be maintained 'at all times' with emergency access maintained 'where possible.'
The diversion routes for motorists are via Bedford Street, Gresty Road, Laura Street and Manor Way.
On Wednesday (March 15), Cheshire East Council released a statement confirming the utility and repair works.
The statement read: "The closure is necessary for works to be carried out by Scottish Power.
"It is anticipated the works will become operative on Tuesday 14 March for a period of 21 days or such less time as is necessary to enable the works to be completed."
