A new Crewe town centre venue is set to host an upcoming comedy night - featuring UK comedy circuit acts and a 'rising star' born in the town.

Crewe Central Comedy Club: Friday Night Laughs will be held in the former outdoor covered markets, Lyceum Square, on Friday 7 October.

Crewe Market Hall's latest expansion comprises a new bar, The Kennel, and a live performance space - opening on Friday 17 June this year.

Ciara Hicks-Evans, from Crewe, will be performing a short-set at the Crewe Central Comedy Club evening (Eventbrite).

The comedy night will feature three highly-rated UK comedy circuit acts and rising star - Crewe's very own Ciara Hicks-Evans.

Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.

Host for the evening is Great Yorkshire Fringe 2019 New Comedian finalist, Howard Anstock.

Opening act on the night is Dustin Moore - a man who quit the corporate world in exchange for comedy.

The South African's high energy comedy has seen him host and headline shows in over 11 countries.

Crewe Central is home to The Kennel Bar, a stage and space for visitors (Ryan Parker).

After a break, there will be a set from quick-fire gag merchant and World One Liner Championship finalist, Ben Turner.

Ben has racked up over 2.5 million views on Facebook Reels and was included in the Daily Telegraph and The Poke's funniest jokes of lockdown.

Following his performance, Crewe comic, Ciara, will also deliver a short set.

Ciara studied acting at Staffordshire University and went on to act and perform stand-up comedy after graduating.

She has continued to thrive and book multiple gigs around Cheshire and Staffordshire.

The former Oaks Academy student performed at Kidsgrove Comedy & Music Festival this June.

Comedian, Clayton Jones, will be headlining the Crewe Central Comedy Club night this October (Eventbrite).

After a final short interval, Last Minute Comedy Comedian of The Year and Crewe Central headliner, Clayton Jones, will bring the curtain down on the night.

Described as having "funny bones" by Romesh Ranganathan, Clayton will be ending the fun night on a huge high at the Crewe town centre venue.

This comedy night adds to growing comedy scene in Crewe with Tom's Tap and Brewhouse, Thomas Street and Crewe Lyceum Theatre, Hill Street, among venues regularly showcasing comedy talent.

Crewe Central has scheduled free non-ticketed and ticketed live events and performances for the upcoming months.

Crewe Central opened on Friday 17 June this year as an expansion of Crewe Market Hall. Food and drink traders will be open on the night (Ryan Parker).

Visitors will be able to purchase food and drink from Crewe Market Hall's wide variety of traders.
