New barbers opens in 'old' Crewe town centre building two years after it became vacant

A new barbers has officially opened in Crewe town centre - more than two years after the 'old' unit became vacant from a relocation.

Magic Scissors barbers opened its doors on Market Street for the first time last Saturday (October 15).

The shop became the fourth barbers to operate in Crewe town centre.

Magic Scissors barbers is joint-owned by Mr Abbas Palani and Mr Keiwan Amini (Ryan Parker).

"Crewe is a nice market town. We decided before the 2021 lockdown we would be opening a new barbers in the town centre", says joint-business owner, Mr Keiwan Amini.

Magic Scissors has joined Figaro's Barbers, Delamare Street, The Brothers Turkish Barber, Victoria Street and Vincent's Barbers, Victoria Street, to open in the town centre.

The barbers is joint-owned by Mr Abbas Palani and Mr Keiwan Amini.

Mr Amini told Nub News: "I moved to Crewe about three years ago from Stoke and gathered information about this town.

Magic Scissors has become the fourth barbers to operate in Crewe town centre (Ryan Parker).

"Before the lockdown I asked the landlord to take a look at the property. I came back once the pandemic had ended to start the process."

The joint-business owner has a lot of time for Crewe - believing there is employment here for all.

Mr Amini was most excited about the town centre's regeneration.

He understood it would take time, but has seen progress since moving to Crewe in 2019.

Magic Scissors currently employs two barbers. It is actively searching for an apprentice to join the team (Ryan Parker).

The joint-business owner said: "We like this town. It has a good future starting from the next two or three years. I think Crewe will be built-up again and shops will come back.

"The new market hall attracts a lot of people just behind our shop. The centre of Crewe should be the place to come to. "

Mr Amini and Mr Palani worked on the development of Magic Scissors themselves - including the decor.

The Market Street unit was operated by GAME until July 2020 - relocating into Sports Direct, Grand Junction Retail Park.

It took the business owners approximately three months to fully convert the former chain store.

Mr Amini added: "This is an old building. It was dirty and totally different when we first came in.

"I took out everything that was in here. It was hard from the first moment, we had to completely transform it.

"I travelled six hours to and from London just to get a sink. I then fitted it myself."

The new barbers is open 9am to 7pm (Monday to Friday), 9am to 6pm (Saturday) and 9am to 4pm (Sunday).
