New bar submits premises licence to open in Crewe town centre

A new bar is set to open in Crewe town centre, planning to serve alcohol and late night refreshment until 1am at weekends.

On Thursday 25 January, Mr Gary Knapper submitted a premises licence application to open at 69 Market Street.

Work has been going on at the site since 2021, with a planning application for a new shop front and refurbishment of the unit approved in March 2022.

The new Crewe town centre bar will located at the former First Choice travel shop on Market Street (Ryan Parker).

Mr Knapper seeks permission open the bar seven days per week, opening later at weekends.

He is proposing to serve alcohol and play recorded music between 10am and 11pm (Sunday to Thursday) and 10am until 1am (Friday and Saturday).

Mr Knapper plans to serve late night refreshment between 11pm and 1am (Friday and Saturday).

His licensing application is on display at the Market Street unit, located in-between My Tech World and Crewe's former Poundland store.

Mr Knapper seeks permission open the bar seven days per week, opening until 1am every Friday and Saturday night (Ryan Parker).

The premises license application reads: "Notice is hereby given that I, Gary Knapper have applied on 25th January 2024 to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as 69 Market Street.

"The premises licence is to provide: recorded music and the supply of alcohol, Sunday to Thursday, 10am to 11pm, Friday to Saturday, 10am to 1am.

"It is also to provide late night refreshment, Friday and Saturday, 11pm to 1am."

Representations to M Knapper's application shall be made in writing to Cheshire East Council Licensing Section on or before Thursday 22 February.
