Sunday's (April 19) overturned car incident in Crewe involved a mum and her one-year-old child, with the woman arrested on suspicion of drink driving, say Cheshire Police.
The crash off Maw Green Lane, close to Maw Green Landfill Site, took place at 3.19pm, with officers supported by supported by North West Ambulance Service.
Despite the car flipping into an adjacent field, there were no reports of any injuries.
The mother, aged 29, blew twice the legal drink driving limit and was arrested at the scene.
A Crewe Police spokesperson said: "On Sunday 19 April, officers arrested a woman on suspicion of drink driving following a single‑vehicle collision.
"The driver was breathalysed at the roadside and provided a reading of more than twice the legal limit.
"A one‑year‑old child was in the vehicle at the time. The vehicle left the carriageway and came to rest upside down.
"This is an appalling example of the danger caused by drink driving.
"Choosing to drive while intoxicated is reckless. Choosing to do so with a child in the car is indefensible.
"Thankfully, the child did not sustain life‑threatening injuries.
"Immediate safeguarding action were taken, and appropriate referrals have been made.
"Drink driving destroys lives. It places emergency services, innocent road users and passengers at extreme risk, and when children are involved, the consequences can be catastrophic."
