RESIDENTS and staff at a Crewe care home joined in with the National Day of Reflection with an evening of singing and fireworks.
They marked the national event by joining together on portals and balconies at Belong Crewe in Brookhouse Drive.
Elsewhere, people held a minute's silence to remember the lives lost since the beginning of the first lockdown on March 23 last year.
At Belong lights were shone from 8pm and a spokesperson said: "We marked the National Day of Reflection with a few fireworks, some candles and lots of thoughts for our loved ones."
A minute's silence was held at midday at various places, including Laidon Avenue in Wistaston.
Charity Marie Curie proposed the idea for the National Day of Reflection with a minute's silence and a doorstep vigil to remember the lives lost in the coronavirus pandemic.
Around the country at 8pm last night people were encourage to stand outside their homes with a light, whether a candle, a torch or a phone, as an act of remembrance.
Landmarks across the UK, such as the Shard in London, were lit up.
