Minus temperatures postpone upcoming Crewe Alexandra match with frozen pitch

Crewe Alexandra were due to play League Two leaders, Leyton Orient, in a 1pm kick-off on Saturday (December 10).
Temperatures in Crewe reached minus four last night (December 8).
A decision was made to check the Alex pitch early following a frosty week.
At 9:30am today (December 9), a preliminary pitch inspection was carried out by an EFL-appointed referee.
Following a number of checks, the referee deemed Crewe's pitch 'unplayable.'
This morning, Crewe Alexandra confirmed the upcoming League Two fixture's postponement.
A statement read: "Our Sky Bet League Two fixture with Leyton Orient has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
"After conducting a pitch inspection this morning, an EFL-appointed referee has deemed the pitch unplayable.
"A new date will be announced in due course."
Crewe Alexandra are next scheduled to play away to Walsall on Saturday (December 17).
